About Us
Set in the heart of the New England Tablelands, the Armidale Jockey Club hosts 12 race meetings per year and is ideally located midway between Sydney and Brisbane on the New England Highway, and two and a half hours from the Coffs Coast along the scenic touring route of the Waterfall Way.
Steeped in history and tradition from its inception in the 1860’s and located within walking distance of the city centre, the Armidale Jockey Club boasts all the facilities of modern racecourses while celebrating its rich history. While the racecourse has changed significantly since it was first established, it still retains some of the old structures. One of these is the historic heritage building now known as the Jockeys Rooms. It was originally built in 1910, and it still reflects its ancient charm and character while now providing a spectacular hospitality room and viewing verandah available to book at all racedays.
Besides racing, the Armidale Jockey Club also features flexible event venues and function rooms which can be booked for personal or corporate events, exhibitions, expos and conferences.
